A Primary School Teacher
Kate is a primary school teacher. She teaches in a third grade class with children at the age of eight or nine.
Kate instructs①her pupils in reading, writing, and arithmetic②. (Other teachers teach them music and physical training.)Her teaching manner is very interesting. Sometimes she introduces them to knowledge of history and other subjects. She tries to teach them good study habits.
Kate has a long day. Usually she arrives at school at half past seven, an hour before classes begin. At lunch she eats together with her pupils. After class Kate corrects the pupils homework and prepares her lessons for the next day. She does  not leave school until half past five in the afternoon.
Kate is busy with her work all the day.

1）本文也是人物介绍说明文，但与上文有所不同。上文旨在介绍一个人的突出事迹，而本文介绍的是平常人的日常工作情况。正文分两段，第一段概述Kate的工作内容，第二段写她天的工作日程，用的是记叙手法。
2）虽然在“内容提示”中有“其他老师教音乐和体育”之说，但在文章中不能出现。如果写进去这样的内容，在英语修辞上就把它叫做与主题无关的“无关句”（irrelevant sentence）。
